Pathways to Success

Garden Spot High School

Cooperative Education Students Graduate

On Friday, June 8, 2017, the class of 2017 graduated from Garden Spot High School.  “I cannot express enough the amount of pride I am feeling for these four students,” said Jill Hackman, Pathways Coordinator.  “I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to watch these guys turn into young men.  I provided them with some guidance, support, and encouragement, but they did all the work to get to graduation and have the beginnings of a career already under their belt.  They should be really proud of themselves too,”  she continued.

Later this month Derek Larsen will be attending Thaddeus Stevens for their 5-week Production Welding certificate program which will be completely paid for by the Business and Education Partnership Grant from CareerLink because of his work in the Pathways2Success program.  Chad Harner is starting a new job in an entry-level position on Monday at Advanced Food Products.  He is hoping this job will give him opportunities to grow and turn into a long-term career.  Orlando Perez Rivera has been working at High Concrete since October of 2016.  On Monday he will begin working at High Concrete as a full-time employee.  He hopes to continue to learn and increase his skills in order to grow in this company.  Lastly, Jake Graybill will be attending HACC Lancaster for their 2-year Business Management Associate Degree program.  He hopes to continue to grow his business fixing washers and dryers and to continue to innovate and improve his entrepreneurial skills.
