Wink Poppy Midnight

Paragraph 1: This book begins with a boy describing how prefect this girl is. They’re both 16, and he fell in love with her at first sight. He seemed as if he was obsessed with her because, the author mentioned ” I would think of her over and over again afterward, until it drove me crazy.” The beginning of this book seems very interesting and as if it will lead into a love story.
Paragraph 2: The end of Chapter 1 leading into chapter 2 started off pretty sad because, the boy mentioned that he always says I love you to poppy and she never says it back. This causes him to get very sad and feel like he’s worthless, Because, after every time she talked bad about him to her friends he still never gave up on them. In this passage I started to feel sad for Wink because he was being treated like this.
Paragraph 3: In the beginning of this paragraph Poppy finally spoke up about her feelings and who she liked. She likes a boy named Leaf Bell, who is a boy that bullies Wink. She stated she liked him because he always fights people and she finds it attractive. This passage in the book brung like anger into my mind, because I find it disgusting when girls only like boys because they fight people.
Paragraph 4 : This leads in by Wink talking about how his mother wrote historic fiction novels. And, how interesting they were to him. The author stated that “After Wink read some of them he realized he needed to move on from Poppy.” But, Poppy was going to give Leaf a piece of art work that she made but he didn’t accept it so she gave it to Wink. Poppy stated ” Once I gave Wink the artwork his eyes got so big drop and his heart came out of his chest. This paragraph in the book to me was pretty interesting because Now i feel like it is a very sad story. I truly began to believe that Wink fell in love at first sight.
Paragraph 5: Leading into this paragraph Wink began to try his hardest not to encounter Poppy anymore, because he didn’t want to still be in love with her. It started of very hard for him, but then he started to keep the mindset that he didn’t still love her. Even though deep inside he still really loved and cared for her so much. The author states wink read “The thing in the deep” after supper. He read a passage that caused him to truly think about her even more, it stated “Felix, was in the garden with his new girlfriend.”(165) After reading this paragraph in the beginning I felt as if Wink was really going in a good path, But then he started thinking about her even more which inside I felt bad for him(Wink). The reason is because he’s truly in love with Poppy and she isn’t in love with him as well.
Paragraph 6: Through this paragraph Poppy starts to talk about how Leaf Bell not liking her effects her. She stated that it’s been causing her to only come out at night. And, when she does she lays down in pine needles and doesn’t feel the pain because, its naturalized. At the end of this paragraph the next day after she mentioned she just lays down in the needles she seen Wink for the first time in awhile. And, he was reading his beautiful voice made Poppy feel calm and peaceful, Also as if everything was okay. After reading this very interesting passage in this book I feel as if Poppy is starting to realize on what she missed out on. She may try to act cool around her friends but deep inside will feel sad and sorry for Wink.
Paragraph 7: Throughout this paragraph Poppy tried to hide so that Wink didn’t see her after he finished reading because she still wanted to listen to him. But, then Wink turned his head around the corner after he finished reading and seen her sitting there. He mentioned how beautiful she looked with the view of the stars behind her. He blinked one time and she vanished. The whole way home Wink was trying to figure out why she was there. I believe this is the most interesting paragraph so far. It started of amazing with Poppy listening to Wink reading his book. Then, after reading it brought me into the mood to see what was going to happen next. The only thing I didn’t like was how it ends in an cliffhanger.
Paragraph 8 : In this paragraph a new character is introduced ( Midnight). She met Wink that next morning at the Gold Apple mine where they go to view horses. They began to talk then decided to hangout after at the park. But, Midnight had to bring her little sister along. the author states that Wink just began to read and Midnight listened. Poppy heard Wink reading so she went over to listen to Wink read because it made her feel better, and seen Wink and Midnight together which made her sad. After this she went into the thorns and began to cry. After reading this paragraph I felt happy for Wink because he met a new friend who may help him in the future, it also made me laugh because Poppy missed out on something amazing and now she’s upset about it.
Paragraph 9: This paragraph starts off with Midnight and Wink going home and planning to meet up the next day. Then, the next morning they both went to the park around the same time, But then Wink ran into Poppy and she told him that his voice is so amazing when he reads. He asked her about what happened 2 nights ago and she responded with ” I just was getting some fresh air.” Her response caused Wink to be curious. But, he just continued to walk along to the park. When Wink and Midnight met up Midnight started off by saying some things about herself. She began talking about how Leaf Bell made her very upset in the past. The author mentions that Midnight seen Bell, and began shaking. This part in the story was very upsetting to me because Midnight still wasn’t being honest with Wink about how she felt about him.
Paragraph 10: At the end of the story Wink is talking to Midnight about how she’s became a hero in his life. She told him he was also a hero in her life. The way that this occurred is because she helped him when he was very upset about Poppy not liking him. Then Midnight seen Poppy walking past and asked her to come over and hangout with them. Wink questioned how she knew Poppy, and she had no response. Poppy agreed and they all began talking and became a group of friends all together who went on hikes and extravaganzas together. After reading this book I feel as if it was very interesting and was overall a good book but, Poppy still seemed upset about Wink and Midnight meeting.
