Over the next two weeks, my Reading class will be reading, Fly, Eagle, Fly!, and Suki’s Kimono. Students will also get to present their book report projects to a small group. In writing, we will review how to write a narrative and start another narrative to add to our pieces of writing.

In Science, we will continue to learn about weather through fun and engaging activities and projects. We will be studying different types of clouds, weather instruments, and even make our own meteorologist report.

All 3rd grade classrooms will be moving on to Unit 6 Collecting and Displaying Data starting 4/27/15. Students will be asked to use picture graphs, organize data, use bar graphs, use and make line plots, and solve problems using data. The actual test date will be set closer to the week of the test.

April 13th-April 24th

Tuesday will be your child’s first day of the PSSA test.  Tuesday-Friday this week will be the Language Arts portion of the assessment.  Tuesday-Thursday next week will be the math portion of the assessment.  They will take the assessment in the morning.  Your children are prepared!

There will be no homework assigned during these two weeks for any classes.  The only homework will be to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and  bring what you may need during the assessment:

  • Water Bottle
  • Healthy Extra Snack
  • Slippers to change into
  • Sweatshirt
  • Silent Reading Book

Thank you to those who signed up already to bring snacks for the class.  If you did not get a chance, you can still email me or send in the note telling me when and what you can donate.

Encourage your children to do their best and that they are prepared!  They have nothing to be worried about.  Usually after the first day, they feel much better.

Thank you!
