This week in Ela we were introduced to new words that we had a test on every friday, each week the words will be different. Context Clues means clues in surrounding text that help the reader determine the meaning of an unknown word. Affixes meaning an additional element placed at the beginning. Connotation an idea or feeling that a word invokes addition to it’s literal or primary meaning. Denotation is the definition of a word, Proactive meaning creating or controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has happened.
