An adventure for Payton (part three)

Sigh, we have to back to our classes. And it’s no fun to walk down this boring old hallway, walking in the same old boring line, in the same old boring way (with our hands at our sides and not talking). I just wish we could go home. As I enter my classroom, the loud speaker starts working up.

“Students! Today there will be a huge blizzard, so we will be sending you all home soon. Good riddance!! I mean, Goodbye!” Yes! We get to leave soon! But it’s only November 30th, how could there be a blizzard?

“Yayyyyyy!!!!!!” I hear from the classrooms surrounding me. Wait, there it is! My necklace is warm again! And how come whenever I wish some was different from the that it is, it changes. But why only today is this happening? I just don’t get it. We pack up our stuff and go to  the buses. I sit in my seat and then start reading my book, Midnight Moon.

“OMG, I can not believe that we are having a blizzard!” Says Klya.

“I know right?” I respond to her. Ouch! My necklace starts to burn hotter then the sun. What the heck!? The bus leaves the school just as snow starts to fall to the ground. I wish I had chocolate and that we could eat on the bus.

“OK kids, since we’re having a blizzard, I’m going to let  you eat on the bus!” The bus driver, Mrs. Crystal, says. Wow, we can eat on the bus? This. Is. Amazing! Klya digs through her book bag and pulls out chocolate.

“Want some?” She asks.

“Yes, please!” I answer. Klya gives me some of the delicious-looking chocolate and I take a big bite. My mouth fills with the wonderful taste of the chocolate Kyla gave me, then everything goes dark.

What’s happening?! Why is everything black?! Wait! I see something….but I can’t tell what it is, it’s too blurry. I snap back into reality. Whoa, that was so weird. What the heck happened?

“Payton, you OK?” asks Klya. “Because you just seem on edge all the sudden.”

“Oh, I’m fine! I was just amazed by the delicious taste of the chocolate you gave me.” I say. But am I really fine?

“OK, if you say so.” she says with a hint of unsure in her voice. The bus driver stops in front of Klya’s house. “Oh, well see you tomorrow Payton!” Klya bursts out the bus at lighting speed. Well, there she goes. I go back to reading my book.

A few minutes later it’s my stop. I get off the bus and walk down the driveway that leads to my house. As I open the door, I can hear my three little siblings  yelling and running around like wild beasts. So at least everything’s normal at home. I go to my room, trying to get away from the craziness. When I get into my room, I try to take my necklace off. It’s not coming off! WHAT DO I DO!!! WHATS GOING ON?!? THIS IS MADNESS!!! Breath. It’s probably just a rusty clip or something like that. Right?

“PAYTON! DINNER!” screams my mom.                                                                                                                                          “Coming mom!” I yell back. Well, at least I have something to do other than worry and panic. I walk into the dining room and the scent of the chicken that my mom made for dinner overwhelms me.

“SERIOUSLY,  MOM!?!? YOU KNOW I DON’T LIKE CHICKEN, UNLESS IT’S CHICKEN FLAVORED RAMAN NOODLES!!!!” I yell because I really hate chicken.
