A Hero!

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” –  Christopher Reeve

What does this quote mean to you? Going back to what we discussed at the beginning of this unit, name two traits a hero should have and why they need those traits. Who in your own life do you consider a hero? Why? Name one person from history that has the qualities of a hero?  Why would you pick that person?

This quote means to me that a hero doesn’t need powers, well they do, but not superpowers. They have to have at least two good traits. I think an example would be kind and helpful. If they are not kind, no one would like them, and I think you have to be kind to be helpful. Being helpful means they would do whatever to help people, which in my opinion, is pretty heroic.

In my life, I consider my mom a hero. She brought me into this world, and takes care of me no matter what. She’s nice, caring, and loving. I think Thomas Edison and the other people that helped invent the light bulb are heroes too. Without them, we wouldn’t have light! Except for candles, but those are dangerous.

Red Ribbon Week!

Why is so important for schools to teach students about drugs and alcohol?  Can teachers really influence who you become later in life?

I think it is good to teach kids about drugs and alcohol. It teaches them what they are, what they do, and why they are bad. It’s good to promote health, especially in a school. I think teachers may help certain kids decide not to use drugs and alcohol, but even for the kids who don’t care, hopefully they get the idea that it’s not good.

Jamaicaaaaa!

If I could go anywhere, I would go to Jamaica. I love Jamaica. I’ve been there before, but I would love to go again. I love Jamaica, It’s so pretty and hot there. I love looking at the fish in the pretty crystal blue water. It’s nice weather, it’s fun, it’s pretty, there’s so many exotic foods, it’s just great! So that’s why I would go to Jamaica again.

It Is Easier To Be Brave If You Do Not Know Everything.

Explain this quote.  What does it mean to you?  When is a time in someone’s life that being brave would be not knowing everything?  Is this a good quote to live by?

I think it means that if you don’t know what things are, you are better at standing up to them. That’s because you don’t know the dangers of things and think they’re harmless. I think it could be like if someone didn’t know what poison ivy was but went through it anyway. They probably would get hurt because they didn’t know what it would do. It is not a good quote to live by because you should know what things are and be safe. It’s better to be cautious than careless.

My Dream Job

My dream job would be a part-time pet groomer, and comic book artist. I’m not sure if I will work for a company, start my own comic, or be hired to draw for someone who wants to start a comic. I would go to art college for a few years if I were to work for a company. Being a pet groomer would just require me to go to a class for grooming animals. This is my dream job because I love animals and it would be really fun to style their fur. And I want to be a comic book artist because I love drawing and I always loved the style of a type of comic book called a “manga”(pronounced mon-guh).

So that’s my dream job. Hope you enjoyed my post. Happy fall, have a super cool awesome extraordinary magical majestic AND amazing day. Byeeeeeeeeeee!

My PERFECT Day!

My perfect day would be like this: I wake up in my comfy bed on a beautiful day. I look outside, and It’s snowing! I love snow. Today is the day I have my best friend over. So I get in a super cute and comfy outfit, ready for the day. I go downstairs with Diggy (my adorable little puppy) waiting for me. My mom made waffles for breakfast. Best meal ever!

So some time passes, and it’s time my best friend comes over. She comes in and we say hi, and then go out in the snow. It’s so much fun in the snow. Eventually we get cold, and come inside. My mom makes hot chocolate for us to warm up. Then my best friend and I go to my room and have fun. Drawing, joking around, and throwing my stuffed animals (realistic). We get farther in the afternoon, and you’d think it’s time for my friend to go. Nope! I didn’t mention it was a sleepover, did I?

Soon enough, it’s time to go to sleep. More like time we can go to sleep. So we get in our pajamas, and do what we usually do to go to sleep. We do stay up a few more hours, watching our favorite shows, drawing, talking, stuff like that. After a bit, we both get really sleepy. So my friend gets in her sleeping bag (sorry friend), and I get in my bed. Time to sleep.

So, that’s how my perfect day would go. Hope you enjoyed my post. Have a super cool awesome extraordinary magical majestic AND amazing day. Byeeee!!

How Can Americans Help Our Food Waste Problem? Maria Belding Knows!

https://newsela.com/read/foodwaste-tech/id/13677

So, this article is about how Maria Belding started saving food. I think it’s a great idea, but there are some flaws. She decided she was gonna start a program where people donated their food they didn’t eat to a local pantry. You put it on a website, someone sees, and they go buy it. The thing is, what if people just don’t donate? There’s gotta be people that don’t have the time. But, this will probably still work out with a little touching up.

I still think this invention is cool, but it needs just a little bit of work. Good job, Maria!

I hope you enjoyed my post. Happy fall, and I hope you have a super cool awesome extraordinary magical majestic AND, amazing day. Byeeeeee!!

Should Guns Be Banned? DUH!

The article on Newsela talks about a terrible shooting in Las Vegas. And the question is: Should guns be banned? Well, DUH! Of course guns should be banned! If this is what happens when people get a hold of a gun, it’s not a good idea to let them have guns.

You may think that it’s not very fair, since people like hunting. But, it should be that before buying a gun, you should be told you can only use it where there is animals that you can hunt. And, you must have a permit. This would most likely help these problems. It would also help to tell if someone wants to kill people, or animals.

So in my opinion, guns are bad and only for hunting.

My Family’s Fall Traditions!

Sooooo, it’s fall now! Yay! And I’m going to share with you, my fall traditions! I have some pretty wacky ones, but it makes fall more fun!

So first, my family and I all dress up for Halloween! I know, I know. It is boring. But there is one fun part of it. Our dogs! We all go and find a costume for our dogs, and sometimes even walk them around the neighborhood.

Next thing we do, is hide a tiny pumpkin around the house. Let’s say my dad starts. So he hides it somewhere in the house. Then, my sister, Jemma, comes along next. Jemma finds the pumpkin, so she hides it. And so on, with whoever finds it.

Our final tradition is pumpkin decorating. Not just carving. We like to draw faces on the pumpkins. My family and I also go on a big craft-shopping trip. We get all this glitter, beads, gems, glue, paint, and more! Then the pumpkin decorating party begins. It’s almost like egg dying at Easter. Finally, we put the pumkins outside for decoration.

I hope you enjoyed my post! Have a super cool awesome beautiful magical extraordinary and amazing day! Byeeeee!
