Hello! My name is Kelly Thomas and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my fourteenth year teaching at Brecknock Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education from St. Francis University (Loretto, PA) in 2002 and my Master’s degree in Language and Literacy from Millersville University in 2007. I also have my Reading Specialist and English as a Second Language Specialist certifications. I grew up in west/central PA (Cambria County) and have lived in Lancaster County ever since I graduated college.
I love the Brecknock community so much that my husband and I bought a house in Brecknock Township. I enjoy being able to walk and bike to school on a regular basis. My husband and I have a precious daughter who is one year old. Ashley Sophia, is the light of our life and we love singing, dancing, playing and reading books together. You may see our family walking around the area with our little white dog named Harley.
I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year. In kindergarten we will work hard everyday and learn to be responsible citizens of Brecknock Elementary School. We will learn a great deal and develop strong friendships along the way. I am looking forward to working with each child and his/her family. Together we can make this school year a success.
