My Travel Back In Time!Week9#16STUBC

This weekend I went back in time to Williamsburg,  Virginia.  Well I didn’t really go back in time or I might have had because I walk in to an old time village talked to the people there and I was able to do a lot of other things as well.  The first thing I did was I went across a really long  bridge and and went on a 10 minute walk to the village.  Then we walked to a windmill were their was a grinder were they used into break down the the corn and other things up.  If the wasn’t blowing they would take a horse and make the horse pull it around and grind it.

Then we went to the village.  The fist thing that we did was go on a tour of the Governor’s palace.  Which was the Govnernor’s home back then.  Sadly it wasn’t the real ting because it got burnt in 1800 I think or some time back then.  But it was just like the palace back then it was very fancy and it was the biggest building their.  One cool thing was that the beds looked small but when you laid down in them the mattress would expand outward which I thought was pretty cool.  When you fist walked in you saw a really nice room.

After we were done with the tour our tour guide told us about a maze in the back of the house it was pretty easy.  Then we went to like a really pretty chill out place in the back. We stayed there a little while and had a few snacks.  We also made friends with a few squirrels because they were like the only mammals there besides humans.  Then we were pretty thirsty so we went to get some soda and some coffee.

Then we went to blacksmith were they made nails.  When the black smith shaped the nails sparks flew everywhere in like a ring.  We saw a person that made a carriages for horses.  When we came in he had just finished a wheel.  The talked about how they were doing a trade some type of different shop for paint.  Then we went to a after that we went to a  brick maker they had just fired up their brick sculpture the Sunday before so that the bricks would turn red.  If the the bricks were orange they would fir it up again if they were purple that meant they cooked it to much.

After that we went to the apartment that we had rented that weekend.  It was pretty nice it had a king size bed and 2 queen sized bed two TVs  a dining room kitchen appliances and  a nice living room though I did not agree with the wall paper.  It had a blue background and red flowers.

The next morning we went to a swimming pool well it was more like a giant hot tub then a pool.  Then we went to  see a building called the Capitol.  I is where the Governor (lord Dunmore at the time)and his cabinet I don’t mean like a wooden cabinet it is like his helpers when he needs to make a decision.  It used to be a few other people but Lord Dunmore fired them so he can make the decisions himself.   That night we went to go see the great illumination which was a a whole lot of fireworks blowing up in 3 different places at the park.  I wonder if I did go back in time what do you think?
