Up High
By Emilee and Shanealei
Once upon a time there was a dragon and he was lonely so one day he said I am going to make a friend today. So he went off to make a friend it was very hard to make a friend but not many animals live on top of the mountains except their was only a bear and a rabbits for the bear to eat and berries. The dragon wanted to be the bear’s friend but the bear was terrified of the dragon so when the dragon went to talk to the bear the bear ran away in his den.
Later he went to go get some fish and he planted the fish right outside his den and water and then and fish tree grows so he watered his fish every day. But one day his fish tree died so he had to catch another fish to plant. So he went off but on his way he saw the dragon. The bear gave the dragon some fish that he had in his house. The dragon was thankful that the bear was that nice to him so the dragon asked to be the bear’s friend Then the bear said maybe later and then the dragon said ok. The bear still wasn’t sure if he could trust the dragon.
Later that night he went to the dragon and said ok as long as you don’t eat me. The dragon was thrilled to hear that he did a full grass spin. Then the bear did a little roar to mean he was happy. They were very happy to be friends the dragon wasn’t lonely anymore and the bear was not scared of anything they had a happy life and that is their story.
Hello again Emilee,
I hope you had a good week. I hope you had a great ‘blogging’ week. Just to check are you prepared for the commenting game that will be coming up as part of the Student Challenge in a couple of weeks?
1. Have you at least 5 other student blogs linked on the sidebar of your blog; blogs from other students around the world, not just those in your class or school. I see you have done this.
2. Do you have a blogroll or link category called Global students or Global classes. I put a link about how to do this in my previous message. Great I see you have done this too.
So Ms. Wyatt’s essentials in a great post are below. I have added whether I think you have achieved this in your most recent post:
1. A catchy title. Up High is an interesting title.
2. At least one visual (with attribution) whether photo, cartoon, video or another web 2.0 tool like padlet or glogster. This would be REALLY good.
3. An interesting topic with your passion for the subject coming through. I can tell you enjoy story writing.
4. A post that is well written and not copy/pasted from somewhere else. Yes yours is original.
5. A post has been proofread and spellchecked. Yes yours is accurate.
6. One that is written in paragraphs – at least three of them. Good you have paragraphs.
7. One that includes links to other websites on similar topics – at least two of these. Many students are not doing this. There is a good trick to get people to read more of your blog and to stay longer. You could say, and if you enjoyed this post by me, why not read … and leave a link to another post.
So you have achieved X out of 7. Ms.Wyatt says that if your post covers the seven things mentioned above e.g. has a catchy title, includes at least one visual etc. etc., it will be added to the flipboard magazine.
Could you make any changes so that it would score 7 out of 7?
When you have done that, Ms. Wyatt suggests you go to the blogging challenge and leave a comment on this post.
Here is the link to the post she is talking about: http://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/2017/04/23/week-6-what-to-write-about/
Just to remind you she asks that you ‘mention what topic you wrote about and leave a link to your post’….not a link to your blog but to the post.
I would also make clear that this post is not ‘other homework’ but a response to the Student Blogging Challenge by adding the hashtag
#stubc17 Week 6 to the title.
Hope you find this helpful. With every good wish
Merry Beau
