West African Connection

Yesterday all third graders gathered in Mrs. Blankley’s class for a video connection with West Africa.  Brecknock connected to a school in Ghana through Oiada International. There were three classes from the United States that could participate in this opportunity.  The Ghana students shared a presentation that they had prepared about their customs, foods, sports, and country.  The US schools got to ask and answer questions. We learned it’s the dry season in Africa, it was 84 degrees, they LOVE soccer (football), Kentucky Fried Chicken is a popular fast food, they have never heard of Fortnite, and they have the same types of pets we do.  Our school answered some of their questions and we even taught them how to do the Floss dance move! What a great opportunity to connect with children on the other side of the world!
