We had such a great time learning about the layers of the Earth and what can cause the land forms around us. The students did a fabulous job demonstrating their learning by creating a way to show the 3 layers of the Earth. The sky was the limit on this project and creativity was encouraged. Boy did they know my socks off! Such creative ideas! Projects will stay on display in our classroom until after Thanksgiving.
Our first social studies unit is USA geography. We will be taking a look at each of the 5 regions of the US; Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West. For each region we will read about their culture, geography and the states that make up those regions. This is meant to be an overview not a comprehensive study. At the end of our unit we will have a test on the 50 states and their capitals. Please help your students study.
