History: an event, person or situation that has happened in the past.
Do you think you could identify five different Famous Americans? If you do that is great, but in this unit we will be learning about different Famous Americans who helped our country in the past. We will also learn about our country’s history and how it became free as well as other fun facts!
In the unit, we will focus on learning about the facts of Famous Americans as well as food,clothing, homes, transportation, communication, rights.
By the end of the unit, you will be able to:
1) Identify the role government plays in the community, such as education and transportation (5.3.2.A)
2) Identify contributions that historical people made.
Game/Activity to Do: Find the Face This game has you match a Famous African American hero with their event or situation that they were known for. When you make the correct match, the game tells you a little more about the individual!
