Economics: producing, distributing, and consuming of goods and services

In this unit, we will learn what it means to be a producer and consumer and identify goods and services. They all have different characteristics that make them different but depend on each other greatly.

We will focus on the following words that help us understand what economics means as a second grader: scarcity, choice, goods, services, barter, save, spend.

At the end of the unit, we will be able to: 

1) Identify scarcity and choice (6.1.2)

2) Identify goods, services, consumers, and producers in the local community (6.2.2.A).

3) Explain how money earned by individuals is used to meet needs and wants.

Game/Activity to Do: Needs and Wants Search You must search through the pictures to find the needs and wants that you need in your life. Make sure you think about what you would really need in your life.
