9th Graders Participate in Mock Interview

The 9th grade Business & You students participated in mock interviews.  Members of the community volunteered to interview students for jobs that they may be interested in pursuing in their futures.  Students prepared for the mock interview by writing a résumé, references, and a cover letter.  They practiced answering interview questions by writing answers to possible interview questions and by getting videotaped in front of their peers.  The students then critiqued the videos and gave suggestions on how to improve.  On the day of the mock interviews, students wore professional dress and became young professionals!  Much thanks to JB Martin, Carol Leaman, Chuck Leaman, Doug Beaver, Susie Beck, Jim Brackett, Karen Buch, Wendy Horst, Keith Ramsey, Vicki Hartman, Anita Yoder, Orie Good, Patrick Winters, Shelly Martin, and Josh Martin for helping to give our students this excellent experience!

Students Celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week began after the brutal murder of Drug Enforcement Administration Agent “KiKi” Camarem in 1985.  He was working undercover in Mexico and was murdered after he uncovered a multi-million dollar narcotics manufacturing operation in Mexico.  Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in his memory.

By wearing red during the last week in October, we demonstrate our opposition to drug abuse.  Many of us have family members and friends who are struggling with addiction.  Students and staff supported the effort to oppose drug abuse by wearing RED on Friday, October 28.  The 2nd block group with the highest percentage of students wearing read won a free breakfast!

Mrs. Bowden’s class had 100% participation!
