Have you ever seen the movie/book, the Lorax. The Lorax is created by a talented writer such as Dr.Seuss. In the movie a man named the once-ler, was making his business by chopping down trees and making thneeds. The lorax tells the Once-ler, an important quote in the story. The quote is that “ a tree falls the way it leans. Be careful which way you lean.” To me I think that the message of this quote is that if you lean the wrong way, there can be consequences that may happen. For example, in the movie the Lorax, the Once-ler then had cut down the last tree and so then his business was no longer going. But that is because the Once-ler fell the wrong way, like if he was a tree, leaning the wrong way. Also with the second part of the quote the Lorax says that you should be “ careful which way you lean.” To me that part says to me that you need to be careful with which path you may take.

Do you ever somehow get frustrated or say to yourself that I want to give up.  For me, in class, I know that I want to give up at times. But in February 2020, I watched a video about grit and a video about motivation. I learned that grit is a sort of persistence and perseverance towards a long term goal. The video about motivation talks about how you need to change your mind, change your life in order to change the world. I would say that both the Grit and the motivation videos are almost the same. Since you need persistence and passion to  change your mindset. 

In the grit video Angela Duckworth tells about how she discovers that what matters in school is grit rather than IQ. Also in the motivation video, Will Smith talks about how if you want to change the world, you first have to change yourself.

So when you are not being motivated, I think that you should think about grit and what it is. You should also try to use grit to change your mindset ofwhat your mindset5 with motivation may be.

A quote that says “ Show respect to people who don’t even deserve it. Not as a reflection of their character, but as a reflection of yours”. In my opinion what this quote means to me, is that you should show respect to people that may not give respect to you. But not giving respect like somebody else may give respect badly, but as a way to show respect in your own good character. You may think, when or where may I need to apply the quote in your life?  In my opinion, I think that I would include this quote in my head when somebody may not be kind to me and when they are not giving me respect.

During the weekend after Valentine’s day, my team won a basketball game that was played at 5:00pm on Saturday. Right after the game me and my mom and dad, went on a two and a half hour drive to our beach house in Rehoboth. Although we only stayed until Sunday. We could have stayed on Monday since I would not have school on  Monday, because my dad had to work on that day. So we had to go home. Then for the rest of Sunday, I watched some TV, did some late homework and then went to bed.

Martin Luther King Jr. who wanted to make the rights of all people more equal. As you may know, Martin Luther, has given his “dream” speech and has made many quotes. One quote that Martin said was that darkness” cannot drive only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that” . In my opinion I think that the words darkness and light mean bad things and good things. What the quote means to me is that if you add more bad  things, then nothing will not get better. But if you take the bad thing away and add something good, things could get better.

There are many things in the world that you can be thankful for. Something that I am really thankful for is that I live in a wonderful community! I know that some of my school friends live in a neighborhood that has so many kids to hang out with. My neighborhood does not have the alonut of kids to hang out with then they do. Even though that fact is true that I don’t have many friends to hang out with on my street. The people that are on my street are really awesome.

A family that I hang out with has three kids. All younger than me, and the youngest is in third grade. A reason why I think this is that when I hang out with my neighbor friends we play the funnest games. Like Indians, where we act as if we lived in the past when indians ways were more around. We also like to play the old games like hide and go seek, tag and line tag. Line tag is when you would play normal tag but you would have to stay on a line, instead of going anywhere you want. 

Sometimes when we have the chance we would hang inside and play with their new puppy and have the funnest times. But we would also sometimes hang at my house in my room or somewhere else. I think that hanging with my neighbor friends is one of my favorite things to do!

On November 15, 2019 Me and my class and another class went to Penn state Berks college. We traveled there in a bus with one other class. When we got there, we were divided into groups to tour the college. What I think was one of the most interesting part was that when you first enter one of the main buildings. If you look up there are neet hanging pieces of glass on a string then the sting was put to attach to the ceiling. The amount of the pieces was truly amazing. I would think that might have taken a little to make the whole set.

After the classes had launched we did a stem project. Our job was to make a mini roller coaster for a marble. The task was to make sure that our roller coaster had on loop, a lump that would be six or more inches high, and to make sure that at the end of the rollercoaster that it would not be a straight line.

If I could go back to Penn state college I would have one question. That question would be how many school districts might have came to do a college visit with Penn state Berks college? I think that because of the college visit I think that I might want to go to college. That is what the tour was like, and how the stem project was really fun and if I were to go back, what I would say to them and what I might want to do with my future.

There are many things that I am thankful for . Something that I am thankful for is that, I am someone who has shelter where every I go. As in I have a home and a school and many other things that can give me shade. Or something to hide under when it’s raining or when it’s snowing ect. I am also thankful for this because people all around the world might not have homes to go to or might not have shelter in general. This is why I am thankful for shelter.

I am glad I can read because if I could not I would not be able to do a lot of things.I glad I can read because things in the world like reading books,instructions and problems from math.I also love the way that the teachers teach me how to read And do things in that class.Because when you get into the real world you will have to know how to read if you have a job that is really busy.THat is why I am so glad I can read
