About the Directors
Ms. Jennifer Schoener is a graduate of Millersville University
and has received a Master of Arts in Education degree from Gratz College in
May 2005. She recently completed her supervisory/administrative certification
at Immaculata University. She has performed with the Lancaster Symphony and
the New Holland Band. Ms. Schoener is chairperson of the Brad Schoener Music
Fund and on the Board of Directors of the Upper Darby Arts & Education
Foundation. She is also the proud parent of a trumpeter in the Commandant’s
Own Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and a percussionist in the Blue Stars Drum
Corps! Ms. Schoener teaches instrumental music lessons and directs the
elementary Spartan and Cadet bands.
Mr. Joc Heckman is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. He has also completed graduate courses at Villanova University and the University of the Arts in music education. Prior to working as an instrumental music teacher, Mr. Heckman taught classroom music for grades K-6 at Brecknock Elementary School and served as an assistant marching band director for the Garden Spot marching band. Mr. Heckman teaches instrumental music lessons in addition to directing the elementary Spartan and Cadet bands, as well as the elementary orchestra.
