An Endangered animal the Blue Whale.

An Endangered animal the Blue Whale.

                             By Sarah And Jacob.

Why they are endangered.

The Blue whales are endangered because of two things hunting. The kind of hunting this is called is whaling.Things that they make out of them are.

Oils like lamp oil, soap, perfume, and candles, makeup, and shoe polish..Food like Margarine, cooking oil, and whale meat.Jello Also they make gum out of whales. There are many other things too,but we’d be here all day.The second is ship strikes.

There are only around 10,000 left in the wild. That might seem like a lot but listen to this from the 1900s to the 1960s 360,000 were slaughtered.

Why you need to help them.

You  should help them because they are quiet gentle giants. They aren’t hurting you so you shouldn’t hurt them. You can also use sonar on ships  to help avoid hitting whales. Also you can study the travel patterns so you do not intercept.

    Great job Sarah,
I like how you organized your writing with headings. Do whales help our world at all and how? How do people make gum out of whales?

    Dear Sarah,
I love your post about the endangered whales. You did a great job explaining why we shouldn’t go whaling. I never knew that 360,000 whales were slaughtered. That is not good.

    Sincerely,
    Joseph

Hi Sarah! I`m Rico from http://ricoonlinem.edublogs.org/.
I also love marine life, although I don`t write about it much. My favorite whale is the killer whale.
Last year I even had a presentation about them!
Ok, that`s enough for now and I hope the blue whale won`t be extinct
