The Harvest Moon & Lunar Eclipse Begin Our Week

Tonight is the night of the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse!  Here is a link to NASA’s information about this historical event.

To honor the Harvest Moon, and celebrate our Solar System learning, we will have a full moon celebration in class on Monday afternoon (tomorrow). Students will share their moon journals, and we will try to watch some of the lunar eclipse footage, as we enjoy some round and crescent shaped foods!

September Stories

We have started our Moon Journals!  I can’t wait to see some after our long Holiday Weekend!  We also shared some GLOWS about what we like about our classroom and school.  They were lots of fun to read.  We gave two “snaps” or “clicks” after each one was read. I love our times when we are building community.

Mrs. Coldren and I are looking forward to meeting your parents on Tuesday, September 8th at our Back To School Night, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Welcome to our 2nd Grade World!

I am excited to meet you in just a few more days!  I am busy getting our classroom together. Mrs. Coldren has been in the room too.  We have both enjoyed time with our families this summer, and she got to travel, as well! I hope you have been able to enjoy the summer sunshine with your family and friends. Did you go to any interesting places? Our theme this year is Reading Takes you Places. Mrs. Coldren and I are excited to get to know you as we journey together this year.
