Iceman- K Pierce

Iceman:

I am the well known dead man you know as “The Iceman” you know little about me and have been pouring over my case for decades. I am dead now as you know, but how I died has yet to be discovered. I was the chief of a village called “Heftar” and we were a new civilization in the mountains. We had few people in our village 50 at most, and 70% of them were kids, so I, being the eldest at age 46, became the chief.

The people of Heftar respected me as I did them until I started making more decisions for my tribe, without my council to guide me. Then everything changed, people who were loyal to me a week ago, now want my head, and those who swore to protect me, were starting to rethink that decision. I needed to get out, I needed to run away, it was not safe for me anymore, I would never be able to go back. I was on my own…

I created an escape plan, one that I would follow in order to get into the Otzi mountains, there I would be safe and out of harm’s way, or so I thought. I would leave in the middle of the night, I already packed the needed equipment for my journey, I was well equipped for a hike but nothing like the journey I was to take. My family was all dead so I had no one but me to worry about, I was scared but I knew I could do it.

It was time to leave I checked everything before I left my old life behind in the shadows of my one room home. When I got to the gates two guards came up behind me and tried to knock me out but I moved so the heavy stick hit my hand instead and blood instantly gushed out. I sprinted as fast as my old withering body would let me past the guards and into the unpromising abyss. I got to the otzi mountains by dawn and, took a rest in a small cave at the bottom of the mountain. By mid afternoon I woke up to voices outside of the cave, so I got up and ran up the north side of the mountain only getting maybe 500 feet up the side of the mountain before a pang of hunger settled over me.

I ate my dried red deer, bread, and grains and began working on a bow for defense. But I heard another voice and continued my journey. By the time I reached 2,000 feet I was hungry again so I found some edible plants and took the rest of the dried red deer out to eat, however I was still hungry so I ran up another 2,000 feet and found a goat, I used my copper axe and killed It by this time I was starving because I had just run 2,000 feet to get the goat, so I skinned it and ate it raw.

By the time I reached the top I heard voices behind me I looked up and the two guards were there staring me down both were armed so I scrambled to my feet and got my copper axe but as I was preparing to fight one guard shot an arrow into my artery behind my shoulder I immediately fell back hitting my head on a rock and watched as a crimson red pool formed around my body and everything went black.

  1. Star: I like your creativity with the name of the town. I also like you made the village in the mountains.
Wish: I wish you would’ve added a bit more detail about who he is and what made everyone turn against him.
Wonder: Why did you decide to make the village up of mostly kids? I would’ve liked it more if it was more adults so that he had more danger to face than a few adults.

  2. Okay K Pierce so I think that you did a great job telling your story, I wish you would have made it longer though it was great but it was so great that I just wished that there was a little bit more. Also though I do wonder why The Chief of “Haftar” decided to start making decisions for his tribe without the guidance of his council like what led him to do that.? Did he feel like their guidance wasn’t what he was looking for anymore? Did he lose interest in the council? WHY DID HE FEEL THE NEED TO BASICALLY DITCH THE COUNCIL???!
