PTO Meeting Tonight

Join the PTO in the computer lab tonight at 6:30 to get help signing up for Scrip Center. This easy fundraiser is a great way to help the PTO earn money while just purchasing the tings that you would normally purchase.

Following this help session, our regular PTO meeting will be held in the library at 7:00 PM.

PTO 2013-2014 Fundraiser

Our Brecknock PTO does an amazing job supporting many school events such as RIF, field trips, field day, and so much more. This year, the PTO would like to earn its annual budget through a simple fundraiser called Scrip Center. All that families need to do is order gift cards for things that they would normally purchase. Summer PTO Events

Join us for the first PTO meeting of the 2013-2014 school year on Monday, August 5th at 7 PM. This will be held in the library. Please enter through the gym doors and come in through the back library door.

PTO is hosting a Corn on the Cob Stand at Bowmansville Days. Bowmansville Days are on August 9-10 at the Bowmansville Memorial Park. Bowmansville Days is a community event with live music, games, food, vendors, quilt auction and craft show on Saturday and a car show on Friday. Please stop by and support the PTO at our Corn on the Cob stand.

June PTO News

Thanks for a great school year!   Congratulations to Nicole Horning, a senior,  for winning the PTO’s  Award in Honor of John Green.  Congrats and a BIG THANK YOU to our teachers retiring this year.

We will be having a new fundraiser in the fall so stay tuned for more information.  We will be having a stand at the Bowmansville Days, August 9 & 10,  stop by and say hello.

May PTO News

Come join us at 6:30 PM on May 6th. We have a volunteer from the Fivepointville Ambulance coming to teach hands only CPR followed by the last PTO meeting for the school year is at 7 pm.”

We would like to thank everyone who participated and helped with the science fair.  We had almost 40 kids work hard on their science fair projects which they shared with everyone that night.  They did a great job!

Thank you to the parents for supporting the PTO so the kids can have great field trips and assemblies.  The PTO sponsored school assembly from Prismatic Magic Laser shows will be on May 6th, at approximately 9:05 am and 10 am.  Afternoon kindergarteners are welcome to come with an adult.

With the end of the school year we would like to thank all the staff and our new principal for making this such a good year.

We continue to appreciate all the involvement of our PTO at school. We are looking forward to the upcoming Science Fair on April 5th. Be sure to come and see the great projects that our students have done.   Our next meeting is on 4/8 at 7 pm in the library.  Please come and join us!

The Race for Education is coming!

On Friday, October 26, students at Brecknock Elementary will participate in the Race for Education. This event offers a way for our school community to be engaged physical fitness as well as serve as a fundraiser for our school. Thank you to Mrs. Felpel and everyone who contributed to the Race planning efforts this year! We hope you will consider joining us on Race day. Here is our schedule for the day. Feel free to join your child(ren) at the times below to walk, run, and/or jog around the Race “track!”

9:10-9:40 AM – 4th & 5th Grades

9:50-10:20 AM – 3rd & 6th Grades

Summer Visitation Day 2012

This summer, we are setting aside a day to open our building doors for visitation time before the first day of school. We especially encourage families and students new to Brecknock to visit us on this day, but certainly all students who are eager to stroll the halls of Brecknock and take a peek at his/her new classroom are welcomed to visit. Please read the information below to learn more. Visitation Day is August 21 from 12-4 PM. Visitors will be greeted in the main lobby by Mrs. Hilt and representatives from our Parent-Teacher Organization, and will be provided with orientation materials and a floor plan so they can explore and get to know our school building. A paper copy of this flyer will be sent home in our summer mailing in early August. We are looking forward to meeting our new students and welcoming families to our school!

Make plans to attend our Spaghetti Dinner!

We hope you can join our school community on Friday, February 3, for the Brecknock PTO Spaghetti Dinner! Seating is from 5:00-7:30 PM.

This is an event you’ll want to invite friends and extended family to join with you! Included in the evening will be a school-wide art show, talent show, photo slideshow, and a chance to purchase tickets for great raffle prizes!

Tickets will be available at the door. Adult dinner tickets cost $4.00. Tickets for children ages 4 through grade 6 cost $3.00.

Discount tickets will be available until January 27, for $3.50 (adults) and $2.50 (children).

Dinner includes drink, salad, bread, spaghetti, and meatballs. A selection of desserts will be made available for a $0.50 donation, or you may choose coffee and dessert for $1.00.

Event forms were sent home with students and/or will be forthcoming shortly. The form to purchase discount tickets is at the bottom of the flyer. Please contact our main office if you need more information at (717) 445-8600.
