A Penny’s Tale: Chapter 1

Once upon a time, in the Philadelphia mint, a penny was born.  He opened his eyes and looked around.  He could feel himself moving on a conveyor belt.  For about an hour he rode easily.  He was beginning to think he would be there forever when PLOP!  he fell into a box.  It was dark inside, and he was scared.  All of the pennies behind him were falling now, too.  When the box was filled to the top, someone came over, closed the box, and carried it away.  The penny decided to occupy itself by giving himself a name.  These are the names that he thought of and what he thought of them:

Now that he knew his name, Wi Faza decided to try and get to the top of the pile.  Since he seemed to be the only living penny, it wasn’t too difficult.   When he was done, he felt much more relaxed.  His exertions had made him tired, however, so he decided to take a nap.  The box was rocking gently back and forth, and he was soon fast asleep.
